Don’t stack South Head, Bradleys and North Head
Each Sydney Harbour NP headland has its own ferry, last-mile or car-park negotiation. Stacking all three is the classic first-visit failure — not a badge.

Decision: pick one primary stop. South Head (Watsons Bay ferry), Bradleys Head (Taronga or Mosman), or North Head (Manly plus last-mile). Adding the other two “because they look close” is how groups miss ferries, skip lunch and argue in a car park.
The park is fragmented foreshores, not one gate. Official NPWS pages own fees, alerts and island access. This article is the pairing ban — planning from official sources, not a walk diary.
Why the map lies

On a street map the headlands look like one harbour afternoon. On the water they are separate products: different wharves, different last-miles, different parking operators, different fee systems. Circular Quay → Watsons Bay does not put you on Bradleys Head.
Failure mode one: treating ferry minutes like driving minutes and arriving at Manly with no plan for North Head gates or last-mile. Failure mode two: driving every lot “quickly” until the first one is full and the day is gone.

South Head + village is one product. Bradleys lookouts + optional Chowder segment is one product. Nielsen lawns + optional Hermitage is one product. Two products in one day only if the first one finished with energy and a real clock remaining.
Turnaround rule: if the first stop ate the buffer, there is no second stop. Official vs the sign: NPWS alerts (wharf closed, net off, Scenic Drive gates) override yesterday’s blog.
What to do instead

Sleep at the next foreshore if you want a second morning. Or come back. Overnight is optional; stacking is not required to have visited Sydney Harbour National Park.

Can fit hikers do all three?
They can try. First-timers and mixed groups usually fail the return logistics, not the walking. This guide does not recommend it as a first plan.
Where does Nielsen fit?
It replaces a cliff day. It is not a third lookout after Hornby and Bradleys.
