Middle Head / Georges Head fort works. NPWS: remediation at Outer Forts (Middle Head) and the Mine Observing Station (Georges Head) from July 2026, expected ~4 months. Minor detours. Verify before a heritage-structure day.
Chowder Bay Road investigations (25–26 Aug 2026). NPWS: reduced parking and minor delays those two days. Bus 111 will not operate past the Middle Head Rd / Chowder Bay Rd roundabout. Skip that corridor if you need that bus.
1080 fox baiting (1 Aug 2026 – 31 Jan 2027). NPWS: baiting at Chowder Bay, Dobroyd Head, Bradleys Head, Georges Head, Middle Head and North Head (including some adjoining lands). Do not touch baits or ejectors. Pets are already prohibited — 1080 is lethal to dogs and cats.
